 Technical Tips For Your Phone

Although this site is available on both the internet & Wap (Wireless Applications Protocol), the majority of our users are visiting us on Wap through their phones. We`ve all had glitches & times when it seems like our phones are acting retarded & it drives us absolutely nuts. The majority of the time it`s usually an error occuring with the network, but that`s not always the case. Is your phone running slow? Does it seem like it`s taking forever to load a page? Sometimes it`s your phone. Here are a few tips you should try.

1. Every wireless provider recommends powering your phone off for 30 seconds & then power it back on again at least once every 24 hours. When you turn your phone back on it re-registers with the network & the tower nearest you. Do this at least once every 24 hours & if it seems like the phone is malfunctioning, dont be afraid to do it more often.

2. Shock your phone! This sounds abrupt, but it actually helps sometimes. With the phone still on, remove the battery for 30 to 60 seconds, then put the battery back in & power the phone back on. Not only does this allow the phone to re-register with the network, but it also resets a lot of internal settings & will often clear bugs. This is completely safe & will not erase any phone numbers, pictures, texts, etc. that you may have stored in it.

3. Clear the Cache & delete the cookies. Many wap sites use cookies just like normal internet sites. These cookies are used for a number of reasons from spyware to tracking. Spyware is where the site you visit can keep track of your browsing activity, but not all sites use spyware. The most common use of cookies is to keep track of what parts of the site you visit, so the site host can tell which parts of their site is most popular.

The down side is that these cookies can accumulate in your browser`s memory & cause it to slow down, freeze up, & just act plain weird. Clear your cache & delete the cookies. These options are usually in the phone settings, but if you cannot find it, read the owners manual.
