Album Review

The late 1960`s were a time of change in the music industry. The psychodelic sounds & guitar solos were always a crowd pleaser.

In February of 1969, the british band Led Zeppelin emerged introducing a unique sound that no other band could reproduce. Led Zeppelin 1 on Atlantic Records introduced a rock, metal, blues, & destinct sound.

`Good Times, Bad Times` was a classic powerhouse tune, followed by  `Babe, I`m Gonna Leave You`, which combined a rock to blues feel. And just when you start to appreciate the blues, the atonishingly powerful `You Shook Me` blasts you into lounging guitar, harmonica, & drums.

This of course leads you into the classic `Dazed and Confused`. A song that needs no explanation.

`Your Time Is Gonna Come` goes from breathtaking organs, to a rocking thump for a few minutes. The ` Black Moutain Side` english folk trirls for & then your struck by the driving force of `Communication Breakdown`.

Taking the heavy, distorted electric blues of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Cream to an extreme, Zeppelin created a majestic, powerful brand of guitar rock constructed around simple, memorable riffs and lumbering rhythms.

But the key to the group's attack, is it wasn't just an onslaught of guitar noise, it was shaded and textured, filled with alternating dynamics and tempos. As "Led Zeppelin" proves, the group was capable of such multi-layered music from the start.
