This film is a throwback to such 70's classics as The Hills Have Eyes and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with maybe just a touch of The Fun House thrown in for good measure.

It takes place in 1977, with two young couples traveling across the country writing a book on, Off the Main Drag, Bizarre Roadside Attractions. When they notice they are low on fuel, they pull into Captain Spauldings Monsters and Madmen Roadside Carnival. He gives them a personal tour of The Murder Ride. While on this attraction, they learn about the Dr. Satan local legend. With their interests peaked, they make Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) give them directions. On their way there, they pick up a strange hitchiker (Sheri Moon Zombie) who says she can show them where Dr. Satans is. As luck would have it, their car breaks down and she talks them into going to her house so her brother can fix the car. Now the Next act can Begin.

Was the Acting very good in this movie?  Not really, if not for Karen Black (Mother Firefly) the only recognizable charactor in the film. These could have just been people that he used in his Music Videos. Did I like the Movie? No! Could I stop watching it? No!! This was a strange and disturbing movie with no real rhyme or reason to it. At least as far as I could discern. It was just Kill, Kill, Kill. But who knows, maybe thats what it takes to make a truly great horror film. Personally, I like to have a little more plot behind my murder and mayhem. But like i said.... I couldn't stop watching it. I don't think I would rent the dvd. But i might try to catch it on Cable or Satellite t.v. I think this one has to get a Thumbs Down.
