The coming Reviews will be from the After Dark Horrorfest's  8 Films to Die For.  The First Up.... Crazy Eights, is about six friends who reunite after 20 years, at a childhood friends house.  After searching through the dearly departeds earthly possessions.   They find what appears to be a map to a time capsule.  The map, rousing the curiosity of the friends, spurs them to find it and dig it up.  After uncovering the time capsule, the unexpected is found.   A few remnants of their past, an Address.  And oh yeah.  The rotted remains of a child.

A child from a past, they have all long since buried in their subconscious minds.  A child that begins to haunt their every waking moment and makes them question who they really are.  The closer they come to remembering the circumstances of the Mysterious Child's death.  The closer they come to remembering their own tormented childhoods.

Have you ever just looked at a movie cover.  Read the brief synopsis of the film on the back cover and said " Oh Yeah, this is gonna be a good one?"  That is what the cover of this movie did for me.  I however was sadly mistaken.  This movie moves at a snails pace.  Then right when it looked like something, anything, was finally going to happen..... Nothing Did.  It was a poorly written Screen Play.  After stumbling their way into the Old Hospital.   Not once did they try to find a way out of the predicament they had gotten themselves into.  No matter what they heard or saw.  The movie wasn't even particularly scary.   The acting was far less then stellar.

There was however one moment in this movie, when Beth (Gabrielle Anwar) realizes just exactly what is going on.  She curls up into the Fetal Position and starts sucking her thumb.  The look of horror on her face at that moment was bloodcurdling.  That was pretty much it for the bright spots in this movie. (At least in my opinion)  This one has to get a Thumb Down.

Lets hope the next movies in this series are better.  Next movies Due Up..... Borderland "Three friends head to Mexico for some fun and sun" and Lake Dead "Where keeping murder in the family. Is the Family Tradition"
